went out tonight to use bait up that was in fridge had a drive about and decided to fish tynemouth beach fished for about 2hrs not a touch. decided to have 1 more cast filled hook and trace with lug and rag finished of with a whole squid chucked it out and was going to finish me tea off when rod gave a small knock
decided to ignore it and finish me hot tea, rod bent over double dropped cup and struck felt fish but couldent move it gave it a bit line and struck again the fight began it done off along the beach hung on and started pumping with the rollers finealy got it into the surf and just had to hang on and take line when the waves washed it in thought i might lose it a couple of times but managed to grab it in surf.hook was just in bottom lip !!!very lucky !!! any way weighed it when i got home topped the scales at 16lb

that was an brilliant report

it was good to read and the last

"topped the scales at 16lb"

made it a super read

well done

Well done fishman, I seen you wind the fish in as I was on the boulders adjacent to Slaty Gut. It looked as though you were tangled up with one of those four guys that were fishing to your left. I was going to come across and see what size your fish was but you packed in at the same time as me and you headed in the opposite direction. Congratulations again.
Cheers
Marty
