Are you a cat or dog kinda person?

I loves them both but only ever had them when I was still living at home. Anywho...myself and the wife finally took the plunge this week and got this little fella from the shelter at Longbenton :D

His name is Rhod :D

has be to dogs all the way for me,prob because we always had about12/14 around when i was young, terriers labs, pointers, collies, and a couple of heinz:)

some kenneled some house dogs,no place for a cat.

good luck with yours, will it be a house cat or an out on the tiles cat:question:

good luck with the moggy. I took a one in straight off the streets like, had it for years and the kids loved it, trouble was it used to love clawing carpets and totally destroyed every one in the hoose:D plus furniture, chair legs etc. then it got old and the vets bill was racking up. then it started ****ting, puking and ****ing on new carpets and to top it off cost me 90 notes to get it topped. had to totally redecorate some rooms which cost an arm and a leg but it was a canny cat:(

This the new member in my house after our benjy passed away he is called bailey

Good choice Tony, just make sure you get it used to the scratching post lol.
Love my Cats to bits. They are Ragdolls & are so laid back & never damage anything. Love Dogs too but got Cats when I was working as didn't think it right to leave a Puppy all day.

Dogs for me here's my little border terrorist relaxing and on her indoors new fluffy cushions lol

As soon as he's old enough and had the vaccinations he'll be getting his own little door to the outside world :D

Learning curve for all of us at the minute...us humans particularly LOL

never seen the point of cats, wallsendo, you know you said your cat gets injections then a door to the big wide world? it just means it can go into peoples gardens / yards and crap where it wants. What is the point of them:confused:

we've always had dogs my whole life, though i'm not a particular dog lover, got a bedlington terrier, he's nice, but also being a terrier a micey little so and so, who we actually got for our daughter , who has since moved out for uni and left us with the dog.....

If i had to choose would have to be a dog not a cat, i mean at least you can take your dog for a walk, , what do you actually do with a cat? feed it then let it out to do what it wants?

also, as a dog owner i have to pick up my dogs crap (which i hate) why don't cat owners have to do that?

Interestingly though if you knock a cat over you're not required by law to stop or report it, but with a dog you are

i'd rather have a stuffed / singing salmon on the wall:D cheaper and a lot less bother than cats or dogs

I can assure you that I am very much hands on with his piles of crap at the minute :D

In fact I'll be right on it once I've finished watching Kojak :D

:D

oh god aye, you'll be at the house training stage, crap and pee everywhere!
don't envy that like.

ps kojak? nufc u21's are on ss2, beating stoke 2-1 at the mo, ryan taylor has all 3 goals

For Working people who want a pet, a Cat is the best choice. They are happy to stay inside alone all day, don't need walking, don't need bathing & never smell as Dogs do.
Cant understand why some let them roam though, just laziness & lack of care for the Cat & other peoples Gardens.
Statistics for length of life} 7 years for roaming Cat. 17 years for house Cat. No Brainer really.

that's one of the most sensible posts i've read on any forum! I didn't realize theyd be happy enough in the house, which is fair enough. laziness and lack of care letting them roam, and also shortenings there lifespan. Down to the owners then really, as with all pet ownership

:)

What a pile of pooh Bob (and Paul). How do you know a cat is happy being locked up it's entire life, when did your cat tell you that nugget of information??

A cat is meant to be able to roam, to live a life that is in its genes. "Laziness & lack of care." Total bull!! It costs me far more in vets fees as my cat is inoculated for many more diseases because she goes out. Why should we lock up animals for their entire lives - we don't even do that to murderers - they are supposed to be free to do as they please, so the only owners who are guilty of a lack of care are the "jailer" owners! If you want a plaything to satisfy your needs, buy a soft toy, not a living creature and don't even get me started on people who keep birds in cages!! I took a cat in 2 years ago, my first ever pet, because it was homeless and I give it the best life I can and I take offence to your nonsense post.

If you had the choice of living 55 years with the freedom to do as you wish, or 70 years locked in a house, which would you choose?
