Hi lads,
Had a late start yesterday with a unplanned last minute dash to wet a line on me Todd, as I had to get back home at dinner to sort a bit of biz out.

The tide, water and forecast was irresistible !

Got down the dock and as expected fog was in, got started off with 1/2 mile visibility up the channel and just past the Hugh pier it was pea soup.

Radar on and dodging the dahns and trying to miss the tankers anchored off, , I made it through the war zone into safer water, got on the first wreck on the back end of the ebb.

First 2 drifts , dare I say it, POllock, 6-1/2 and 4-/12 then a couple of cod on the 3lb mark. Then it went dead.

Moved on to another close by with 2 codling 2lb then nowt.

3rd wreck and the tide flooding, I had 2 drops on the same drift, 9lb cod and 7-1/2, I thought, jackpot they're coming on, 5 drifts later with not another fish that thought got shot to bits.

Moved back to the first wreck and got another P, with 2 codling and a ling 6lb.

Sick as a parrot had to head in, half way and the missus called to say not to bother coming home !!
That p!55ed me off, to think I could have had a proper Sesh with the usual suspects.
A good day, patchy sport, 12 fish to keep, nice to hear a few boats reporting Macky. I had 2 bait balls up on the plotter just off one wreck. All fish on shads.

Water was still green algae until 3 mile then it cleared up crystal further out, fog cleared once the sun started smiling.
Roll on the next decent forecast, hopefully the sport has started and will pick up

I hope she has sharpened her filleting knife !

Going from recent reports i would say you had a good day Paul. Not many Charter customers ever go home with anything like that. Well done.

Canny read Paul, the wrecks are starting to produce at last:) then having to head in, then told not to bother:mad2:. Some canny fish there though, and there'll be more there next shift:D

pollock...:o small ones tho...:D

nice day Paul, seen the fog on the way to graft:( then the sun came out..:(:(

good to see some fish tho....:)

That's a great day's fishing just now, and a good write-up too Paul.
I wonder who was the most P’d off, you having to go home or your lass saying you’re late, don’t bother coming. ;)
Not one to look a gift-horse… I’d have been straight back out. Avoiding the dog-house by going fishing, everyone’s a winner. :)
