hello
the way the conditions are at the weekend do u think fishing on a north pier would be a bit risky or should i just go down on the day and look my self?

BIG seas and V V Windy mate....it's prob not safe, but you can always use you're own judgement on the day....a lot of anglers will be hitting the beaches tho' I reckon ;):D

I will be deff hitting the beach if its not too rough, and if the weed doesnt bother me, not to fussed about the wind and the rain tho:D

is it not north west winds,if it is blyth and that will prob still be flat so they would be safe places to fish, think the sea might get up if its coming straight from the north to north east but dont think thats gonna happen

The sea is going to be big. Wind forecast is NW/NNW. As Vamp says Blyth (wooden) pier is ok to fish in "Huge" seas as it is on legs so the force of the waves pass through, and is quite sheltered in NW winds, as is the beach around to the stubblies. Solid piers (Tynemouth, S,Shields etc) will be dodgy, especially Friday.
