few year ago,i new a lad that used calfs liver, and was the but of jokes for a canny while , he got fish on it , no more than any one else

I was on the Ratty when the guy was using pigs liver and he offered to let me use some but I declined and thanked him, thinking pigs liver someone has been winding him up.Then no sooner had his line hit the water than bang a bite and a big whitey reeled in . So I can vouch for its ability to catch the whiteys.

That was me and my father in law :) i thought the only pig i would see was flying past me but carnt knock a bit of pigs liver .

i heard about pigs liver 4 whitties a few years back & thought the same as most of u but i did try it 1 night on blyth beach & it does work 4 the whitties & i also had a big flounder on it also.
1 & only time i've used it mind.
bill.

Up at Eyemouth harbor a few year back the kids where fishing with it and catching tiddlers, kept running back and forth from the butchers on the corner next to the ice cream shop.

Was the same day I met Martin Johnson (world cup winning rugby captain) and didnt know who he was :o

i used it down the Tyne a few year back but had no luck, then again wasn't having much look with the usual bait, i can imagine there will be a lot of scent/blood as soon as it hits the water and if it works for you then why not, cheap and plentiful from the supermarkets ;)

when i was a kid if we couldn't get any proper bait (ie herring!) we'd get a bag of meat scraps from the butchers. i used to catch flounders and coalies on them, including my first ever 'big' fish, a 1 lb 6oz flounder from seaton sluice harbour using an orange cord handline and a lump of beef!
