Pilot at hartlepool ??

Fished here a lot last winter and caught plenty of whiteys but never seen or caught any cod. Just wondered if you get many from that mark or its mainly whiteys .

locals only really bother with he pilot for cod when its too rough to fish anywhere else.

yeah, I've had plenty over the years from there. but, its only really worth fishing when the sea is massive and is pushing the fish into the tees bay area.

I haven't any reports worth mentioning for a while from there.

i live hartlepool and know it dose produce cod but as and its not doing to bad at the moment with roughf seas plenty of codling around 2 3 lb

There are about a million different marks I'd rather fish between Sunderland and Hartlepool before I'd even consider fishing the Red Light. As Swalesy says it can fish in certain conditions (massive seas that make open shore marks unfishable) but otherwise I wouldn't waste the diesel or the bait.

dont know bout hartlepool but horden has been getting some lovely cod over last few days.
im thinking bout giving it ago down there my self on saturday or something,
i'll add some pics of the fish the lads have pulled out in the last couple days ,
