piolet pier then middleton afterwards

well last night i decided to go out despite the wind and was supprised to see so many people out trying had a drive round to the middleton and was refused entry due to a collapsed wall at just past the gate so we headed to the piolet peir started fish there was already a couple nice fish out by the time we started...anyway my first couple of casts came to nithing then all of a sudden i had a small rattle resulting in a deeply hooked fish around 1.1/4lb just shortly after that i had a slack liner that resulted in another codling just around the 1lb mark that was returned all went quiet so i decided to pack up and goto the middleton despite being turned away earlier on started fishing the middleton approx 1900 first few cast resulted in weed we where joined by a few more lads that where fishing the old banjo all of a sudden the fish mate an appearance with the lads that had joined jus into fish for 1.5lb then all off a sudden i had a tiny litlle rattle picked up the rod and waited before my rod was nearly pulled out of my hands at so i struck into it managed to get it to the side of the pier without any struggle thinking it was weed one of the lads lifted it for me turned out to be a nice codling of 5lb2oz straight after that i had another 2 hooked deeply just over the pound mark by 10 pm we started to get plauged with weed really badly so we called it a night and headed home got a couple pics to post later when i find my card reader

Nice result mate, i was hanging around the Pilot last night chatting to some lads, were you fishing off the end ?
Went on the pilot this morning and had one just over the 2lb mark for 4 hours fishing !

just back from the heugh,fished it from 13.00 till 17.00 managed 8 cracking whiting all over the pound mark one a personal best at 1 3/4 pounds fished the seaward side about 3/4 ,s along to the end, couldn't get on the end just to many rods, but loads of codling where landed all around the 2lbs mark and one i saw at around 6lbs,reckon the heugh will fish it's t//s off tonight , conditions absolutely perfect hardly any wind and a lovely swell on. cheers Paul

Well done Daz. Rob the lad who lives over the road from the pier pulled a nice Cod when you had left.It seemed to go quiet then. My bait was used up so i called it a day after a good sesh.
Wish i was down tonight but am far to knackered after work. It will fish its tits off everywhere after that blow i guarantee.

yeah enjoyeds the night my self fished the huegh last night but far to many rods to get anywhere near the end of the pier ohh and by the way mick if your heading to the huegh anytime soon that last big sea has knocked another 2 blocks off the front of it not to mention the gate has gone from the fence too
