Pirks

I know we have been down this road before - but what types of pirks are there and what do you use. I use metal bar pirks, home made norwegian style and lead rippers. What is a jensen?

Hi Jason, I suppose its down to personal preference.I used the 16oz Norweigen and my mate uses the fish shaped pirk, both of us catch fish.

Jason , I got the 12 oz Jenson mould (Its the fish shaped one) It goes down faster than a norweigen cos its more streamlined , and if you decorate it with silver scale tape (expensive) and sticky on eyes, it sure looks the biz when you pirk it just under the surface, I`ve made lots of them over the past two seasons ....... probably 50-100 not sure, but, one fact I`m ABSOLUTELY sure of :) I aint NEVER caught on a one yet..........
LOL may just be bad luck (or crap skill) but never seen one in a fish mouth. ...... I think I just give myself a challenge for this season LOL :)

Use a bigger treble Norman, you might just foul hook summit on the way down :D :D

I think i\'ve only ever caught a coalie on a pirk, and that was when they were practically jumping in the boat anyway.

I remember that jammy bugger Bert reeling in a rusty old pirk over a wreck, then using it, and catching fish straight away on it.

cheers lads the main reason for asking was the word jensen. norman do you jerk upwards and let the pirk free fall fast back to the bottom and are you as close to the bottom as possible. we will get ya a double on a fishy pirk by the en d of the season.

Now Jason that\'s a bit of a dodgy question if ever there was one.... ;)

Personally I\'m an upstroke jerker and I make sure I bang my tackle off the bottom :D

that would be nice mate. We could jerk upwards together(no that is not a reflection of my Naval years). LOL
