Interesting reading stewart.seems everyone got there own method and suppose if it works for you why change it.to bling or not to bling.easy enough just try both ways n bingo into the fish.cheers for link

I have made some rigs for Plaice. Couple of wishbone rigs and some flappers. Used 8mm colour beads. About five on each snood. Red yellow orange colours. I will be trying Shields pier. Also another couple of marks I have looked at over winter. Ragworm seems good bait.
Mick.

When is the best time to start fishing for them.is may-june onwards good time.cheers

I've had them from Easter onwards, given good conditions (a period of nice, settled weather, clear water) but the early ones tend to be a little thin after having recently spawned. They get plumper as the summer goes on, so May / June is a good time to start getting some better ones, right through the summer - just got to avoid the macky-bashers on some marks!

Gary :)

All the places have been mentioned really but would only target them in daylight. I've seen a lot of people fishing for them in the dark but they are very rarely caught then

Interesting to hear about Plaice up Dumfries and Galloway. Going up there for a week in May and soon get sick of wading through dogfish so a day after Plaice would be a nice change. If anyone could recommend a mark and best tide conditions I would be very grateful.
