been fishin the middens loads in last couple of weeks,looking to get some plaice,saw they were being caught on south shields pier and over this pier to but kept tryin on the middens,over last 3 weeks i must have had at least 70 flounders and a few coalies,then today at tea time i got what i was tryin for,and like buses two came at the same time on different rods, heres a pic of the bigger one ,didnt bother weighing it so if anyone want to guess it.lol

Nice Plaice, I'd say it was definitely 7lb, sorry, 3 litre coke bottle size

Depending on how fat it was I'd say about 2lb, maybe a smidge over, looks a little bit smaller than my good one back in May but not much. Well done.

nice plaice, what i heard of about the middens was ,they are there in more quantity than other places but max size was about two pounds were as shields you get the bigger ones.

was told to go down at low water and look for the rocky bits so as to when tide comes in cast as close to rocks as you dare .bait ragworm size 1/0 viking 1 up 1down rig.

i have fished it myself and have had plaice but settled weather is a must.

information above was given to me by someone a while ago and i think it is about right.

just had a look at the pictures of 2 a got the other week and it is a bit smaller than my biigest and about the size of my smaller plaice which was about 2 1\2lb so well dopne mate

nice plaice mate, i got one last year on tynemouth 1lb 8oz and it wasn't as chunky as that and it was smaller than the box so i'd take a guess at 2.5lb
