hi lads was on the jfk today :):) didn't believe how many fish were on the go till i seen it with my own eyes :o:o on so many diffrent types of tackle shads/ jiggers/ bait/ just could not fail what ever you used alot of cod around 3lb to 8lb with four ling best of 9lb most of the lads taking about 20 to 25 fish each but what i like was that once we all had plenty of fish to take home to stock the freezer with we started to throw the other fish we caught back witch was nice to see thinking of the future nice one lads. thanks alan for another realy good day.:red::red::red:

Sounds like JFK came up trumps again :) you and the rest of the lads must have been over the moon, well done on the catch and return ;)
How far out were you ?

not that far mate still abit misty so it was hard to tell realy but wasn't to deep aye i like the catch and release idea good to see the future is being thought of.:):)

aye codsquad, theres more and more folks putting the smaller stuff back, especially over the last couple of years.i think theres a few reasons, first and foremost the anglers sense of responsobility regarding future fish stocks(its a pity the goverment didnt have a bit more),then theres been quite a increase in the activity of the fisheries protection squad, and i do beleieve that charter skippers, and those who have their private boats are trying to educate people also.all in all its good to see and long may it continue:exclam: coz fishing is fun:D:D its 0315 and im up coz im excited at going out today:exclam: 62 and still getting excited:exclam: amazing:exclam:

Well done on your catch Cod Squad, nice to hear you all were doing catch and release once you all had enough to stock the freezer.

well done on the catch, and couldnt agree with the lads more on the catch and release we have a 16.5" min on cod to try and preserve the stocks a bit! its something that weve all got to think about!:)

aye lingking all the small stuff went back witch i think all should do but what was even better was that the the nice size fish were going back i don't think any fish under 3lb were kept witch was realy good to see.:):) all in all it was a lovely day:D:D

Nice report.
Know what you mean about releasing part of the catch, it's the catching I enjoy. Would rather there was fish for tomorrow, than a load of filleting when I get in!

Last year i chcuked back about 80% of the catch, this year i am keeping abit more since my dad now has a chip shop standard DFF and batter from Macro :) still say 60% will go back once the freezer topped up.
