My Century super sport ( minus 3 inches off the end). Was a bit too bouncy in the wind but is now a great all round rod with a lot of back bone and v good bit detection.

WR300, mine has had soem stick and it is as good as the day i got it, strong, light, good bite detection, nice action and i find it fine for casting with.

I fish with a Daiwa Moonraker 12ft with a Shimano Aerlex GT8000 FPU....

Bought these over 10 years ago - and I notice that they have kept their price....although the reel seems to have been adopted by specimen Carp anglers

WR300 13ft-3" for the ruff stuff, casts for fun, very stable in bad weather and great bite detection at distance.

Daiwa STS 115 11ft-6" Casting weight 2-4oz Bass Rod for light shore methods and estuary work Bass,Flatties, makie and even pollock. Brillant caster, good bite detection.

Not heard anything bad about the wr300 really, i know greys went through a bad patch but seem ok now.

All brands of rods can snap via faults or miss use, my mate has snapped 2 zips, 1 on the cast and 1 when winding in a fish ont he blast and 1 greys appolo when lifting 3 mackerel up Seaham pier.

I have snapped 1 greys apollo in my days and 1 spinning rod.

I love my wr300,all round good rod i think..everyone sticks with what they are happy with

LT Bullet (non dymic) is a much better all rounder. Good at range with 175gr and bait. Good in kelp, good bite detection, good caster, lightweight and very very reliable. Lovely progressive action and you can feel everything.

You have the ultimate confidence in that it wont go pop on you (unlike some others where you are always holding back!!)

Not much even comes close IMHO.

Appollo mk1 great fishing rod with superb feel - Hold back on casting and lifting tho!
TTR great caster but lacking in feel and sometimes a bit too much
WR300 heavy and dead, rock rod and not much else!

Favourite Rod/Rods?

Favourite Rod/Rods?

This is one of those questions to which there realy is no right or wrong answer, we're all different and there are many variables which influence our choice of rod, I suppose the correct answer is whichever rod that you are happy or confident with.
I use an old fireblade sport with an extended butt to make it 14' but I have also been using the CME and the new Crest which is very good.
I like the mk1 apollo and had a lend of an xtr zipplex which I liked.
Favourite rods from years ago? 216 sport and pateke morton SC6.
Ian.
