They move offshore during the winter, more or less returning to the same place year in year out. September/October can produce some big fish as they try to put on weight for the winter period.
Thats why its best to put them back if you do catch them, as they are resident fish, and once they\'re gone, they\'re gone, you only have to look at the Isle of Whithorn and Burrow head for the evidence.
