Interesting conversation going on in another forum about Poor Cod

Anyone know how to definitively tell the difference between a Poor Cod and a Pouting?

Is it only the stripes or is Pouting a more rounded body??

Could Normans rather large Scotchy in this picture in fact be a Poor Cod?

Scotchy it is then...I neglected to read the "average" size bit :red:

That is also somewhat bigger than the Uk record of 11oz

I think it`s less scaley with smaller (relatively speaking) eyes.

looks like a Steve fish

I like this explanation from WSF member .... Poor Cod has the a*se is in line with the rear of the dorsal. On a Pout the a*se is in line with the front of the dorsal.
(not yet substantiated I might add - Norm)

Well fog bank hit about 3.30pm with force...going to give it a bash as they had less than 2hrs to work ont he gates when i spoke to them.

I checked the weather and wont be out until 9am now as thick fog from now until 10ish they said...not a fan of the fog even with the gear on board.

Miss the tide but still lots of time to land a few...i hope
