Decided on another flattie bashing trip at port carlisle. Finished work at 7am, straight home quick wash and down roker pier to try and get a couple of fresh macky for bait to supplement my fresh crab for port Carlisle, very quiet on roker, lots of anglers very very few fish. Managed a decent coalie and 2 macky in the hour I was there, mission accomplished some fresh macky for bait.
Left home at 3pm and arrived at port Carlisle about 5-30pm, took a bit longer with the rush hour traffic. Got set up with 2 rods on the sand and waited of the bore passing before I cast out. First 6 casts 7 fish and that's how it continued til I stopped fishing at 9-15 pm. Don't know how many flounders I had but must have been at least 40. Most fish were on fresh crab but did have a fair few on the macky strip. Had 4 fish which must have been around a pound and a half but also had quite a few small ones. The water never reached the grassy bank so all fish were caught on the sand.Absolutely knackered now, far too tired to drive back tonight so going to kip in the car and fish the mornings tide before heading back home. I'll put a full report up with piccys when I get back home tomorrow.

Mick, why do you keep traveling over there for Flounders when the Wear is fishing so well for them at the minute??????.

like a change of scenery and a bit peace and quiet. the wear is fishing well for the flounders this year but its nowhere as consistant as over there, its only 82 miles away so just a nice little drive.
