heard that prawns are a good stand by bait so bought a couple bags of raw tiger ones from tesco, prob is how do fish em on the hook.

I simply thread them on as the shape lends itself to the hook shape.
Though i tended to use them for summer fishing for flatties

coalies love them, on saturday i got a coalie and a flounder using blacks tipped with prawn.

Start by pushing to point of the hook through the top of the prawn (The thicker end), then slide the hook through the body of the prawn and out the side of the tail. I usually wrap a couple of winds of bait elastic around as well.

There was a big news flash a little while ago that the prawns would replace peelers etc. for half the price but i think it was just propheganda. I would say add a little bit of chilli, fresh tomtatos and your their with the garlic...

i put prawns on my hooks the same way i would put rag or lug on, head first and just thread them through.try them marinatated for three days in blended runnydown [not to eat, as bait ,you'l be suprised at the results]

Saw the king prawns in Morrisons and did not think they would be any good as a bait.

I've used raw unfrozen prawns for a couple of years now to bulk out my bait if I'm runnig low (and because I'm a tight so and so), all I do is put the prawns in a small tuperware box and put some pilchard oil or peeler crab oil on top and then freeze them.

I've caught a lot of whiting using just the soaked prawn tipped with squid so it's a bait that I wouldn't dismiss outright, also as it's a bait that not a lot of people use it can be effective on very quiet days.

All I do to hook them is thread them up the hook using maybe 2 or 3 depending on the size but I always go above the shank and then tip with squid.

i have had cod last year on prawns still in the shell.

never thourght it would work, but it did lol

wont say where they were going mental for them, but they defo worked ;D
