Praying for a decent fish at the pilot pier on Saturday.

Armed with lug, Mussell and 20 peelers. And with some decent weather for Saturday, hoping to pluck a codling out at the pilot at Hartlepool, as my old man did last Saturday.

You'll need more than prayers on the Red Light mate. I'd suggest sacrificing some virgins as well but you would find them rather hard to come by in Hartlepool...

If you get anything more than dog crabs you will be doing well. If you get a Cod you are doing great. Wouldn't get my hopes up looking at the forecast.

Good luck anyway :red:

Brilliant :D

I always give credit for trying...if you fancy a chuck, go for it mate but you'll do well to pull anything out to be honest.
Good luck, I might have a walk over in the afternoon

u never know charlie what may pop up if i was not working this weekend i would have had a pop down and have a afternoon fishing just to get out

go for it , if you enjoy it that's all that matters. if you catch anything , well that's a bonus. If not you got the fresh air foc, good luck

Take some mackerel and fish it 2 feet off the bottom with a flapper rig. Cotton it on as the crabs will be on it but you should catch Whiting and have plenty of sport fishing at the light straight off the end into the ship channel. Can be snaggy with old lobster strings and chains. Keep your box shut and look out for rats after your bait.

Is that the two legged ones mick:);)

forget cod, conditions wont be right. but..... it will be ideal for a bag of whiting. don't cast into the channel, you,ll loose gear on the mud channel wall. cast up the channel on the inside on a rising tide. there should be plenty of whiting to keep you busy. don't use hooks bigger than a 1/0. size 2 will be better. don't waste your crab, leave it at home and get some mackerel or squid to tip off your lug or just fish or squid on its own.
