did any 1 see matt hayes on discovery channel using this preformed bait in NORWAY while fishing from the shore, i did not see the program but there is good reports on the bait ,if any one did see it can you let us no what you think?

Steve
I watched him in the boat. He got the bait off the skipper who said it was a mixture of herring, mackerel and crab all held together in a double net/mesh. It was about the size of your thumb end and he just hooked it on to the hook a couple of times and did not use elastic thread on it. I mentioned this to Joe the other day when I was speaking to him!
Cheers
Marty

Marty was he catching on it? i'am of to norway on the 28th a week on tuesday for meeting regarding this bait, i think it could be interesting,Ian from AMMO BAITS is also traveling with me as i have started supplying him with small blueys and many other baits , Marty next time you speak to joe ask him for some of this bait to try, i will be sending a few 100 kilo over with ammo's next order so i can get it out for anglers to try .If any body else would like to give this bait a try PM me .

preformed bait

cart comes to mind:question: theres certainly nothing "new" about the concept of mixing a few different types of bait together putting them in mesh and putting on a hook:exclam:but it may be new for norwegian fishing.hope it takes off:)

i agree with you we all use many baits in cocktails ect while fishing, but i have to disagree with you on the concept of just mixing a few types of bait together and putting it in a mesh, they have been doing a project in norway for over 4 years regarding this bait and have spent over 5 million GBP already, as this bait is for the commercial long line industry , please take a look at this link www.norbait.com/Brochure.pdf i think you will find it is not just about putting bait in a mesh, and you understand why they have spent so much money on this bait ,please let me no your thoughts after reading it.

i watched this also he only caught a few fish nothing massive think he called it sausage starburst or something the skipper of the boat said the lads who were using longlines normally get 400 fish but when they use this bait they get 700 plus so it must be pretty good

hi steve got your pm in november but did not know how to reply ,ill give ita trial on the pier with marty and other members and let you know how we get on davy :)

hi steve ifa,i havent read the link you posted yet,but it wont change my thoughts on anything projects are great, moving forward finding out stuff and developing it also providing gainful and fulfilling employment and development for people involved, unfortunately steve there isnt and never will be a magic bait.what works in one place wont work somewhere else, and what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow.advertising can make stuff work for a while remember the new magic oils that were produced many years ago, two or maybe three year wonders at best.longline short line if theres no fish theres nowt going to put one on your hook.

Hi mate
I think if you read the thread first you would understand what steve ment this is not (A MAGIC BAIT or WONDER BAIT) but a bait made with offal, to put it easy so you understand rubbish from other fish to protect the enviroment which we all want to do im sure you agree, that would be a good thing if you can catch fish on a product that would go in the bin or if it could be used to try and catch fish, is this not a good idea, because some company has spent millions in doing so and it works for them i rest my case.

:Dhi i have read the link:exclam: and i am afraid its more about marketing than owt else.on the big plus side:)the company is spending money on research(means jobs:))using material that other ways would go to waste(enviroment benefit) another spin off is they will probably make some money out of this, which may offset some of their investment.im totally supportive of all investment/research,without this there would be no future.what totally p===== me off is all the flag flying banner waving that goes with it,and what p===== me off even more is that i know companies have to do this in order to stake their place/share in whichever market they are in.any how in conclusion i wish them well, and any other poor bugger thats tryin to make living in this country (or any other:exclam:
