Pulley Problem

Try using pulley beads, the Gemini ones are good but expensive. Or try using a thicker sinker line, this stops the line from crimping and not releasing.

Maybe your bait is slipping down and round the bend in the hook or when your baitn up there's to much near the point of the hook there for stoping the clip coming off, I had this problem too now I leave the bend free and no matter what i use now it releases

I use imps a lot, but I seem to remember it states somewhere that they aren't designed to take much of a load on casting and that if you're using a pulley rig the hook length needs to be tied right up against the swivel/pulleybead so that it's only just tensioned. I never use pulley rigs though so they might be ok - they certainly work well on loop rigs which I tension with one of those little srt springs & on single clip-down traces.

My only gripe with them is the new longer ones are cr@p - the little plastic clip keeps coming off & I don't like the longer clip. Fortunately I've still got a few of the old ones left & I've heard they've gone back to producing the old style ones again - I certainly hope so.

Thank you! - I was worried it was only hearsay, they've still only got the long ones in my local shop. Should have enough old ones to see me through until he gets some short ones back in.

My bait clips realise every time clipped down rigs or pulley rigs, 4mm or 5mm round cable clips. Saves a fortune.

Try having your hooklength just at the correct size so that all the tension of your sinker isnt on it if that makes any sense pal.
