Pulley problems

When casting try and let it overrun a split second and not tighten soon as it hits the water , the little overrun releases the hook every time
Good luck mate

Daft question but are you sure you are assembling them properly I've never had 1 not release. They are designed to release on impact with the water. The only problem I have with them Is they release mid flight when using big/bulky baits. I prefer impact shields now if using 4/0 hooks or above.

i use imps with loop rigs or 2 hk bombers with srt springs nee probs so far. i did use a pulley with an imp when i first got it last yr it didnt release on occasion but i thought it was down to the full circle hook i was using.

Yeah they are defo set up fine... when i try them out on dry land they release fine every single time! Will try a few of the suggestions above before throwing them away altogether.

emm julio.....i think the whole idea of the paddle is to enable water action to release the imp . . if a shock thud is required to release it on dru land it might just be remotely possible that ur snoods are rather tight ? the best way to get an explanation i guess would be email breakaway. i had a swift email response when i was having an issue with my thumb button system . :)

Hi guys,

I have problems some times when using pulley rigs and bait clips.... there are occasions when they just don't seem to release and the whole rig comes back as it went out.....

Any ideas? Snood too long or short etc....

Any help would be great,

Thanks Marc

try shortening your snoode mate, after casting give it plenty slack line so your lead has a chance of hitting the bottom without tention throught the line. If none of the above is working it may also be a facter of bait. As in too much masking the bait clip will ofter prevent it from doing what its suppost to do. Hope this helps

YAY!!!! Finally think I have worked it out.....

I had a fairly thick oval link joining my swivel to the 'imp'. Took the oval link out and it now appears to be MUCH more free to spin and eject the hook. Also slacked the hooklength a bit aswell and a few casts yesterday, hey presto.... bait popped off every time!

Oh, and I also invested in some bait shields aswell..... be prepared for them not working and another post form me asking for you guys to sort them out hahaha

:D:D:D
