Pulley rigs in side wind

I have noticed that in strong side winds sometimes my pulley rigs don't seem to release consistently, I assume that's because they are not falling through the water on a slack line due to wind pressure. But not sure. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Impact shields or Gemini imps.... Never had one fail mate.... Fished in some horrific wind aswell...

maybe not enuff force to release . e.g to soft a landing (sinker to seabed due to thumbed spool ? only other thing is that ur sinker(rottenbottom) has already disengaged upon impact but not knocking off the hook .
