pully rig with rotton bottom

I don't go above 10lb happy to lose a lead a chuck I have only lost one cracking fish with my lead being stuck it won't happen again lol that was using 20lb rotten bottom

I marra, me too, learned the hard way.
, I mean on big reels like the 535 with heavy line , the weak link braking strain would be a lot different to the weak link on my 525 with 18lb sensor.

its funny how it takes so long for the penny to drop, ive just got to look back a few year to all the fish I used to loose in the snags lol:p

Aye me to mate all go the sake of a lead haha even with 30ln straight through I don't budge from 10lb lol
 
sometimes the weak link can be too weak.
especially on tidal marks like a drum end where the fish needs resistance to hook up.

dunno I could be wrong? maybe not so important on a beach where there is little tide pull like Hendon prom:D

Don't need rotten bottoms on the prob you need a pray mat lol

Never read all of thread but never had a prob rotten bottom I have used for yrs panel pins so easy adaptableso easy and cheap.and have used this method wth up and over pulley rig any rig you wish to mention.
On a note here if people can remember when tony taylor was coming on here for a short time I can remember asking him about rotten bottoms and replied its summit what he uses very rarely I know what he meansand people knowing tony one of great north east anglers will know the ground he fishes.
