hi im new to the area, I have fished the qe2 a few times and caught nothing but a cold. I know its popular for pike but I am more interested in the other course fish if anybody has any info on hotspots on the lake for feeder or float fishing it would really help as its really the only lake I have access to at the moment all help will be greatly appreciated

This time of year the silvers are very few and far between. Best time is the summer and even then it can be a hard lake to fish. Ive found that it always fishes best with a S/W wind blowing and overcast conditions. My most successful area for the bream has been the top end of the lake (pit end), about 100 yards to the right of the wooden jetty. Feeder is by far the most successful method, with corn or double caster being best bait. Another good tip is to go down the night before and heavily groundbait a swim. Most of the fish I have had, have come from distance, around 60yards. There are bream to double figures, good roach and rudd and some nice perch. Ive also had carp to 11lb take my bait. Hope this helps?

Hello,

Sorry to hijack the thread slightly but does anyone have any further info on the pike fishing at the QEII? What baits / methods are allowed - live baits, dead baits etc. Is there a specific pike season or when is best??

Also any hints and tips such as good baits or spots would be appreciated.

I used to fish the lake years ago and fancy trying for pike again.

Thanks,

Michael.
