Quick trip out on Sunday gone.

Had a pop out in mark's boat on Sunday with the wee nephew (6) and mark's son (8) I was soo impressed with the little 'un, it was a bit lumpy out there but he didn't bat an eyelid, did as he was told, no sign of boredom, stuffed his face, found his sea legs within about 4 minutes and skippered the boat almost all the way to Wallsend without too many corrections. I really am chuffed to bits as this first experience will hopefully have set him up for life.

We had a couple of drops off St. Mary's and pootled about on a couple of inshore wrecks with no luck - then had a most pleasant trip up the river (and back)

Saw you swabbing the decks Norman but the "Blanc" in The ZET was too nice to leave alone.

Canny weekend for a wee Glawegian boy - first ever big football match on Sat. at SOL (with 43,000 others)

And first trip out on a smaller boat (he did pilot the shields ferry for a while last year when I took him on it, if you don't already know, the pilots are always pleased to let the young 'uns into the wheelhouse if you ask the ticket lad to check.........or were on the old one anyway)

Cheers Mark

hi Ian,

I did notice marks boat was out as I got to the marina (laden with sandpaper and all means of "De it ya sel" stuff). Then noticed on way back (whilst stooping low and clutching a hard worked back) that he was back in, not knowing you too were on board. It did look a bit lumpy out there on Sunday.
Well done with the little un I`m sure he`ll be teaching us all soon.

see you next time mate.
