Quiet day at Lynemouth Beach!

Hello to all. This is my first post, although I also post on WSF.
A pal and I fished Lynemouth Beach yesterday, from 1300hrs until 2030hrs. With the Westerlies, the sea was a mill pond! A lovely day though!
Ten lad's in total were fishing, to the right of the old pipe. Others were to the left. Nothing of note was caught on our side, until we were plaqued by tiny coalies!
I will certainly try the venue again, hopefully with more favourable conditions.

Well done to everyone in the Whitley Open yesterday!

All the best lads!

Wayne.

Hi Wayne and welcome to NESA. The beach can be a canny mark on it's day, usually when dropping after a big sea. We used to walk to the far end and slowly work our way back to the other end until we found the fish.

Be very very careful if it is rough though, a few of my mates were up one night years ago when it was rough and a wave came right round behind them. They were very lucky not to go right in and they lost a load of their gear, rods, boxes, rod rests, the lot.

Fished there 4 weeks ago same conditions cast line out with one rod and ended up wading out to pipe spinning with the other. Blanked right side of pipe. Packed up and went to left side with a result for 8 hrs fishing of 1 sandeel 1 waterlogged mobile (while wading out to sandbank got hit by rogue wave) and severe sunburn to me napper (no suncream).
Still enjoyed the day out, 1st time I had fished Lynemouth which I believe will be a good mark in winter months.;)
