rag worm, and dont laugh.

Don't believe all these people telling you that a ragworm bite doesn't hurt; they're just trying to lull you into a false sense of security. It's excrutiatingly painful;the small ones are bad enough but when the big ones latch onto your finger you'll know all about it. When they take hold they just won't let go. The only way to get them off is to squeeze their head with a pair of pliers; and make sure you have your pliers handy when using ragworm because if one takes hold of you, you only have about 10 seconds to get it off before it starts burrowing into your flesh. It's not bad enough that they burrow into you but then they start injecting you with venom. The venom will then begin to dissolve you from the inside out.
So be very careful if you decide to use ragworm;

But the most dangerous bait is lugworm: you don't even want to know what lugworm is capable of. Nasty little suckers.

Also dont cut there heads off as theyll just slide down the hook and cover the point

Its no where near as bad as a wasp sting, tbh you hardly even feel it

It hurts a bit when you're looking closely at them and they jump out if your grip and nip your eyelids. Also, if you have big nostrils, make sure youre not beathing in through your nose when they jump at your face. Ive lost a few up my snout that way. They sometimes crawl back out looking for scraps when im eating my dinner

i might know i am gonna get the urine extracted out of me, but im not gullible lol. i will watch out for the venom though haha

Good to see that you are taking it in the light hearted manner it was intended.
The nip doesn't hurt in the slightest, you just know that you've been nipped. It's like someone poking you in the shoulder; it doesn't hurt but you know it's happened.

Honestly they don't hurt if they nip you...but there is a size vs strength of bite issue, the bigger they are, the harder they nip, and the bigger nippers they have, its more the shock of the nip that makes you jump than anything else.

I had a huge 30" ragworm a couple of weeks ago, and its nippers were ½" long, had me snake wrangling lol... so do be careful with the bigger ones, but generally they aren't strong enough to push through the skin.

Been nipped loads of times and it doesn't hurt. The best thing to get if you don't want to get nipped is a worm baiting needle, they are worth every penny.

Tight lines.

Ha ha wat a waxa

The worst ones I ever had were little maddie type at St Ives; the little buggers were latching on any chance they could. Was like dipping a chocolate hand in a weight watchers meeting :D
