Tell me about it I got a "packet" of lugworm (from a shop that will remain nameless) to go with my rag on Saturday paid £2.50 got to the beach opened it up to find 10 worms most of them 2.5" blowlug Good tides as well so no excuse for small worm. Living away from the coast is a pain but I'll travel the extra few miles next time and buy my worm from somewhere else.

The quality of the worms from sports and leisure is hitty missy but I always find that if they give you small ones then they give you more to compensate. I think their pricing is ok. I would rather spend a tenner on worms than spend an hour breaking my back digging and getting full of clarts. Mind you I could do with some exercise so maybe I should dig.
Im not sure people should slag the place off on the forum as these guy dont deserve to have their business slagged off.
Just to clarify my bait wasn't from Sport and Leisure, I won't name and shame I just won't buy bait from that shop again. Vote with your feet and your wallet, nowt worse than shelling your hard earned on bait for a nights fishing and finding rubbish, tiny or half dead worms in your paper
Somebody named the bait shop to which they vow never to return. All I know is that the bait shop in Newbiggin has shut down so I for one would be sad to see the only one in my area go the same way.
I cant believe so many people give these tackle shops so much of there money for bait its not to hard to get them yourself and you no they are fresh I get as much enjoyment out of getting my bait as catching fish
i made the mistake of not checking me bait at first but never again alot of the shops i've been too are not bothered if you dont like what you see they understand if there baits crap half these guys are sea anglers themselves and they wouldnt use it would they.......
i had bought 6oz friday morning for the night sesh at £1/oz i was expecting half decent worms but by the time i got out and opend them they had shrunk considerably and a lot had died off i then went back to the shop the following day to buy myself 10 frozen crab as im not a one for complaining i had to say something about it so i mentioned the condition of the worms he was understanding and admitted himself that the worm was not upto much so he give me 5 of my frozen peelers for free i was very thankful and im still going there as the service is of high quality
I always say you can vote with your feet. If any shop, not just fishing are not giving a good service then go somewhere else.
As to slagging off i see no harm in people relating their experiences.
After all owners of shops are free to join here and if i was one i would be PMing anyone on here with a problem to see if it could be sorted.
If there was a problem then word of mouth will spread it faster then here and i would want to fix the problem.
Good customer relations and all that
thats exactly what i get from my local shop i use if the bait aint upto much they wont sell it and if the do sell it and its not upto much il have a word with them in quiet where no one else can over hear as i aint one for complaining like i said before they tend to sort something out good customer relations like another shop i use from time to time always says no point in selling poor bait if you want to keep your custom
got some from flash tackle the other week fairly decent and you get to see them as they bag them up but for the best ones you have to dig , got my self about 20 quids worth of king rag last weekend in an hour n a half got two long sesh,s out of them didnt catch much though as i only fished blyth harbour but most of them were thumb thick and over 15 inches
