Fished the groyne from 4 this morning about 12 trawllers left 2 came that close it snapped me off would off pulled my rod in if I did not have hold of it. Bearing in mind they left from north shield and were about 60 yards from the edge of the groyne I can honestly say it must off been deliberate why else come that far out your way I hope it wraps around his propeller and the tosser gets stuck out at sea . And rips all his nets and catches no fish :D

There a pain in the ar*e no doubt, but i dont think it would of been deliberate. they have nothing to gain by dragging rods in.
More than likely just being lackadaisical, no excuse like.
I know a few lads that work the trawlers that also fish from the shore and they wouldnt put up with owt malicious from there boats

Well 2 boats did mate no other reason to come that far across its opposite side of the river

fair enough phil, if thats the case its out of order and rather stupid! must of been bored to **** as most of the lads i know never stop from the second they get on board till the moment they get back to dry land.
Cant understand why they would be fking with shore anglers when they have so much else on there hands

I in no way advocate the advice i give you, but find where the boat berth's
and smash the skipper straight in the lips.
I would not take my advice, but it works for me ! ;)

all vessels leaving the port should stay the south side of the shipping lane all vessels entering on the north side that is the rule, but out of common sense and respect you would have thought they would try and avoid fishing gear.

On the flip side, we were steaming past the walkway one morning and some numpty cast out just as we passed, his sinker hit the wheelhouse, luckily no damage but it could of killed someone.

Mutual respect required me thinks.

Definitely I always wants even if the on the other side in case I crack off. I couldn't see the ship's name as it was pitch black but would love to

The numpty who cast at you keith should be brought to task, he gives the
shore lads a bad name.

The way your going everyone will be getting a good hiding!
Not saying violence doesnt sometimes help eradicate a problem but i dare say if i chased down every fker that annoys me day to day i wouldnt be out enjoying my fishing

Ah well, each to there own !

Exactly, I dont condone violence but then again i have been a tad partial to it myself in the past when needs must. I have found it a lot easier to get on giving a little nowadays. save the extreme violence for the ones that really need it
Nothing wrong with hunting down skippers and there crew though if thats your forte

Agree with curtis south side to exit and north side entering , the boats arnt bothered about a bit fishing line been there as x trawlerman out of shields:o

they did to us last Sunday Phil when we were on ssp they seen us then turned in closer it was as if it was there fun to see witch one could snap the line.
ill tell you what if they did snap it he would have been getting a sinker tossed at him.
especially as 1 or 2 were out on back looking to see the lines and telling he closer.
not that ill go back there.

Gary they will care next time as I won't wait to cast out and if I do find out who it was they will def care

Most private boats respect us, the trawlers are another thing, they could be registered
anywhere, just pulling in for fuel and a break.
I think a .243 should calm them down a touch!!

It happens to us all the time on the west quay north side when boats mooring. Up or going for fuel we just keep our eyes open and wind in,in the mornings its like wacy races with the boats leaving the gut.
