Rat house or pier all night fishing

Exactly mate, thered plenty fish around at the minute, maybe not in quality but in quantity.

Theres been a few decent fish around that area recently. A few years ago my good mate 'waco' lost probably the biggest cod ever seen/caught there, unfortunately I wasn't there to see it but many people did before the fish was lost, words couldn't describe how big it was, but from what i hear everyone who did see it expressed its size by stretching there arms as far apart as they could, and these where genuine anglers, including 'rod-the-cod', another member on here.

Just goes to show you should never mock a fishing mark, as one day that mark could throw up a fish of a lifetime, and you may have not been there to catch it as you think the marks dud.....

Am a right Jim mate or am a right. :)

Andy, biggest cod i have seen was lost on the white rocks about 5 yrs ago by John Davies, took a while to bring it in and when it broke the surface its head was huge, the body came through and we could not believe it, was witnessed by at least 3 members of NESA, then a guy we were fishing with decided to grab the snood and drag it round the rocks to bring it in, snood snapped and fish stayed there for a few seconds but seemed like forever then just sank away, we all estimated it to be between late 20s and 30 lb easily, fish of a lifetime, i would have thrown the fkr in the sea if it had been my fish he lost :eek::eek::eek:

A wasnt there to see bob's (waco's) fish, but a guess it was probably the same size. It's probably the biggest from that area (rathouse), a dunno where white rocks are.

Aye a wouldn't like someone who a didn't know just come along and try and land a big fish on my rod ad tell em to bugger off! :D A would try to land the fish myself if a could get down to the water nearby, or ask a friend I trusted to help, unless that stranger miraculasly had a dropnet or gaff standing by... :o :D :), now that would be extremely handy ;)

Andy, the white rocks are a few hundred yards south of the south shelf of the wherry at whitburn mate, excellent low water mark

Was at the Ratty from 9.30am until 4.30 pm, 17/2. 4 small whiting and a flaty all day, and that was better than most very poor. funny thing is all the takes were only 20 yards out any further and i didn't even get a bite.:(
