Alright lads

Fished the rat house last night only for a couple of hours, got there about 3pm 1st 5 casts 5 fish albeit small stuff 4 different species - codling about 1/2 pound, flattie same weight, coalie same and whitey same.

soon as it got dark we were expecting more of the same, nothing happened not a touch was packing rest of my gear away about 7pm and rod doubled over pulled in a lovely codling of about 3.5lb ended up stopping for another hour again not a touch, called it a night,

Caught 20 fish between 3 of us in just over 4 hours all safely returned apart from the codling

great night just goes to show a drop in temprature and a change of wind to stir things up a bit!

used mainly mackeral for bait , had rag, lug squid and mackeral but the macky proved to be the killer!

Were any of these fish size, apart from the codling - you say mackerel appeared to be the killer bait....sounds like a busy session I agree, but if all them fish were under size, then I wouldn't exactly call it a successful one either....sorry to sound so negative, but thats just me...

fair point but im the type of person who enjoys my fishing and doesnt care about what i catch just as long as i catch something! dont get as often as i would like and for me to catch anything makes my day!

i agree sometimes it can be annoying when you are waiting for something bigger and your bait is stripped by small fish but thats fishing!
