Went down at 12noon for high tide at 2.30pm. Roker pier was still closed but I don't know whether this was because of the ongoing work or bad weather. There were no cranes or workmen's cabins on the pier or any sign of workmen so I presume the weather forecast wasn't good, there was a large swell running along the inside of the pier.
Anyway, on arrival at Rathouse corner i counted 21 rods out. I stayed there for three hours and never got a bite. I only saw three or four small whiteys hauled up during this period.
