Fished Saturday night on the end of the old pier as they'd closed the gates on Roker pier, it was like the January sales ha ha ha I managed to squeeze in though, the lad next to me had 5 codling in 5 casts, his mate had 2 codling, I think a lad called John had 1, I ended up with 4, they were all ranging from a pound and a half to two and a half pounds, all mine went back as did most of the others, I think the lad next to me kept that two and a half pounder though, nearly all taken on fresh crab and cart, mine were all on lug and fresh crab, I think one was taken on razor fish if IIRC.
