Was a good forcast so had a day out.spoke to a few lads and the peir wasnt doing owt so to save the walk i fished the ratty as been getting a bit sport there over last few weeks.fished with tomthumb another nesa member.lots of small tommys.collies.rockling and flatties.useing rag and blacks.small baits on 1 0 hooks.it fished wel for 3 hours then quietfor a while.couple of hours after the water turned i got a thumping bite.rod in hand and waiting for it to come back and bang i was into it.i new it was a decent fish and coupke mins later had a nice fat cod at just over 5lb.lucky thus time of year i no but enjoyed every second of it.also ended up with a face like a turkey cock off the sun.very enjoyable day.got some pics of fish but havnt a clue how to upload them.i had said to tom earlier that i wouldnt be surprised if the odd decent fish was caught as there was a lot of movement on the water with the light northerly.had a good laugh with the kads that were fishing cos there was alot of tourists about and they all wanted pics of the fish.one couple fron down south even videod me getting landing the fish.was a good laugh.so keep ane on your rods lads as you never no.more so with the easterlys on sunday and monday forcast.cheers
