raw water

will i still need the silencer when converting to a raw water set up, almost sure i dont need it,just aboot got all me bits gona give it a go

when you get a good look at the actual engine, there dosent seem to be much to it, in fact, we wondered yesterday how it actually works,very primitive compaired to the diesels of today.that link you sent turned up trumps , they stock a lot of the bits i need and are reasonably priced, i had also got me sell a new recon starter motor , tried to fit it but couldnt get it in as the selonoid? was catching the hull,the one thats fitted has the solonoid fitted on the engine,will have to keep scouring the auction site,

Is the solonoid not detachable?

I know a friend of lad at work who has a 4108 had a lot of bother finding a starter for a 4108, summit to with a strange number of teeth.

i didnt fancy chewing a hole in the hull,an kieth we did detach the solenoid but the flage it was mounted on was still catching,,if it comes to where i cant get another then we'll maybe have to think about altering the hull ,the reason for not chopping into the hull is that one of the flanges was cut of the original starter to get it into the engine bay,making me think there could be something behind,
ive recently found out that theres 2 large cooling tanks in the hull below sea level, wouldnt want to pop a hole in one of these
