was amazed:o,when i tried to book a place for myself:exclam: the skipper dosent do single places:exclam::exclam::exclam: parties of 6 or more:exclam::exclam:
seems a decent chap though,had a good bit craic with him:)

We are booked with him on 7th August looking forward to it. Just hoping weather is ok. Suppose to be going out on Bachanalian from Hartlepool this Wednesday, but it's not looking too good.

catch 22 is well booked at weekends which is when i wanted to go,as you say the red5 skipper is a canny lad to talk to

I will take ones and twos give me a ring peter 07854819924 am in sunderland fully licensed and insured, wreck, rough ground, 7 days a week i have 85% wkends free for now had boat 4 years now just started up full time chartered fishing boat this year, so anglers, so there is no need to struggle for a boat this year,

I cannot understand why no one uses the facilities on the deapsea site and advertises the days and lets people book places in advance like the weymouth boats do

you could be a shift worker and book up places months in advance they only have one stipulation that they must achieve 6 which is the same but at least you are in with a shout but if two are turned away to start then another 3 get turned away it only needed another one

Why is the north so far behind the south and the website is set up for them all to use and free advertising to all the southerners to come north cod fishing as well

flamer from hartlepool is on there but does not use the facilities at his disposal

How did colin penny from flamer do so well when all the others were taking full bookings he edjucated them in single places and you can look and book, simples and he gets full very quickly but the majority is done by singles,


The first one to do it up north and adrvertise it right will fill up !

i'm pretty certain Jim ( north star ) hartlepool takes single bookings....quite cheap too, its around £25-£30 for the day,

I have been out on 1 boat from Eyemouth, 3 from Amble, 2 on the Tyne, 4 from Whitby, 1 out of Bridlington and have 1 booked out of Hartlepool next month. Add to that list at least 6 others I have phoned when looking for a booking. That's 18 in total and not one Skipper has said he won't take singles, doubles etc.

Also on charterboatuk there are plenty of northern boats who advertise and update their availability, so I don't think that "up north" boats are as far behind the times as you claim!

Maybe a bit more research on your part would give you a clearer picture.
