Red Light Hartlepool.

Me and a couple of mates fished the rocks near the Blast beach yesterday but conditions got so bad we had to move. The sea was massive.
I decided looking at the time and traffic to head back to Hartlepool intending to fish the red light due to the big sea.
Parked the motor at the foot of the pier and was pleasantly surprised to see no real snags so fished with two rods.
Crabs were the main catch with every hook coming back bare. Brought in one whitie wit two crabs which i thought was a decent cod.
Called it a day at 8.30 pm. My mate only had one whitey. Saw one 2lb cod caught on cart next to me by another lad.
Fishing was very poor.
One other thing which really allarmed me was to see people fishing on the Heugh. I could,nt believe anglers were on there in the conditions. Massive waves were coming over the pier and were only 30 yards from the anglers.
Anyway guys tight lines my next look out is a comp on Sunday up the Tyne. Never know i might eventually hooka decent cod.
PS Thanks again to NE Tackle at Ryhope and Gary for top dollar worm.
Mick.

It was The Ledge, then Hawthorn Point we fished Mick. Could see you weren't comfortable fishing the location or conditions mate, and" Shall we go to The glass centre" gave it away lol

was this yesterday dinnertime at 12:15 ish at seaham... saw a couple of cars (one was a bmw estate i think) with rods etc inside pass me along the car park on top of noses point....
i was on my dinner break from work and the sea looked magnificent... ideal for up a height...
shame it never produced for you ...
cheers

Yea that was us mate, just showing Mick a few locations, out of all the ones we visited I fancied Noses, but Mick don't like the height, for lifting his big fish he recons lol

Its alright for you being a Seaham lad but i was brought up in Hartlepool where the nearest thing we had to a cliff at the coast was the side of Middleton pier. I really dont like that mound at Noses. Mind i did enjy Hawthorn but will have to try again when weather not as bad-------and i have a spare bag of two dozen sinkers.
The 4x4 was superb.

Them on the heugh were'nt fishing Mick,it was the Plum and his posse.
He'd been fishing it the night before, but when he got home he realised he
had a hole in his trouser pocket, and he was missing a 20 pence piece,so he
went back down, mob handed with his metal detector.Dunno if he's found
it yet,but he will.:D

David its a Northumbria police comp. I can fish as a guest as i paid £10 yearly fee. I like going cos my mate fishes for them.
