just got a penn reel seat but on putting it on the rod ,its way to big for my hands to get a firm grip ,so i am returning it ,apart from using coasters or a fuji reel seat ,do any of you know of a slim reel fitting that works

Abu Grip Locks are good mate if you can get one to fit your rod. On my Kompressor sport I\'ve got a Century reel seat which is essentially a modified Fuji seat. It is totaly adjustable and is held in place by a coaster - slim, adjustabl and you get a good finger grip on the coaster. ;)

Are those Talons like coasters but with a silver trigger grip and latch type tightener (Eh?) if so I\'ve heard you need to use them carefully as they can crack your rod / reelseet. They look nice though.

YOU CANT GO PAST A FUJI REEL SEAT THE MOVEABLE ONES ARE BULKY but the normal ones are spot on s and a baits in fredrick st have the talon grips in for £15

the Abu griploks are slim, dont move on the rod when the reel is in the desired position even under pressure from a decent fish or weed.
seen the talons but never tried them so i cant comment on them.
wouldnt use coasters on a rock rod myself though.

Bought a Abu GripLoc a few months ago, cant fault it at all and its not as bulky as my Penn sliding seat !

could be an abu trigger or a normal fuji type reel seat ,that penn adjustable was just way too big plus i could move it under pressure ,thanks fellas

My reel seat\'s given up the ghost a long time ago, too big for the rod I bought it with, and cracked under weak gayman pressure from the one single coaster it came suppplied with. Rubbish. The fuji seat on my Terry rod, fixed up the butt is perfect.

Century have now updated their website and it features the rather good adjustable reel seal:

;)

it also works well with casting as you can lock your finger round it giving better grip ............lol and i like the north /south thing gogs heh heh :D
