could any one suggest a good reel for all conditions not to fussed on price must be a multiplier was looking at the diwa 7ht mags ut heard it mostly for clean beach also iv been looking at the penn fathom heard ther ok actually

thanks in advance :)

if your not fussed on price get the new penn torque 100 best all round reels out there but 400 quid penn fathoms are nice but seam to be a bit cheaply made the new saltist 30s are much better cast well and will pull the plug out there around the 180 price

haha i use 18 lb mate and iv heard theyre godd reels off a few people now

if you fish heavy ground quite often you need to change your mainline. before buying a new reel. 18lb just isnt upto it.

for mixed ground go for a 525 mag, if your going to be fishing in really heavy kelp etc, u want a bigger reel..

penn535 , slosh 30s, saltitst 30 etc etc.

dont go buying a 7ht mag to fish over rough ground.

dont buy a reel just because you have heard they are good, or they look great.

different marks etc etc mean using different tackle and equipment.

I have a couple of Penn torq 100s which I use on the wks in the summer, uptiding / downtiding in the winter and been used on the piers, rocks and beaches. I think thats what you call an all rounder, in fact I would call them bomb proof !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what the tourques like to bring decent fish up with the high retrieve, ive got the 100 and 300 but keep getting put of using them by people saying there to fast for wrecking. :D

Hi, excellant for working shads etc, bringing fish up just take your time - not a problem !!!!.
No good listening to other people who will probs not even own one, get them on and give them a go - bomb proof !!!!!!!!!!

i agree great reels only used the 100 from the shore they need magging though as i find the new black ones un castable as they have no brakes but i have only used a mates black one and they cast like a 6500 but will pull the plug out

Could probs get an excellent condition 2nd hand torque 100 for around 200. Seems a lot for a 2nd hand reel but I've got one and as Phil said probs the strongest reel around and they cast well

Get 2

Get 2

Why not get 2 if you`ve got 200 quid get a nice little casting reel for the beach and piers and a winch for the rough ? Penn 525 for up to 20lb line, and a S/hand slosh 30 for the heavy stuff. Just a thought

Any Diawa millionire or Abu 6500 or Akios 656 size reel for distance over clean ground with 15lb-20lb will be fine but heavy ground or rock marks need a bit of grunt. Slosh 30 with 30lb line or Saltist 30 will be good.Mixed ground 525 20lb line ?
