relegation fodder?

looks like the bookies could be right....I thought the mackems did ok today though, looked a little bit better, but they still managed to lose 3-1!
, always admired kevin ball as a player , what he lacked in ability he made up for in commitment, and his team showed a bit of that today/

Hopefully we can put the Hull game behind us and get at least a point at Everton, though never easy down merseyside.

spn stated 5under1and are the only topflight team without a win,1 point out of possible 18, and already -10 goal difference after 6 games, not looking god for the cheesy chip brigade, especially with Man utd next game.................happy days

But we have a 100% home record in the league unlike you's. :D:D:D:D

Played 3 lost 3.

care to elaborate lad? or you just looking for an argument?

were you at the game today? you being a diehard 5under1and fan?
Yes i will put it in plain english you talk about footy but most of your comments are sh#te..and never talk about fishing as you know nothing about it.end of ..

So sunderland didn't play well today then? you must have been watching a different game (that's if you watched it) ball had them organised and grafting, better than under pdc, cattermole was very good, larson not so good. liverpool had more quality in the end.

I'm a football fan, not just an nufc fan.

Regarding fishing, fished off and on for 30 years, I know more than some, not as much as others, and i'm always learning, I fish heavy rock / kelp marks , only in winter, and normally only when conditions are good, usually have a couple of trips up north to arbroath / aberdeen around xmas time, had some decent bags up there.
don't do shore fishing in summer, had plenty nice cod from the shore in winter though (and plenty of blanks) best to 7 or 8lb, no doublers from the shore yet.

I fish off my own little boat in the summer, based in blyth boat club, which i co-own with my older brother. The boat hasn't been out at all this summer due to work / family commitments, might try and get out before season ends, had a couple of double figure ling over hard ground this time last season, double figure cod early last season, just because i don't post loads of fishing threads / reports doesn't mean i'm not a fisherman.

Just back in from SOL were do I start!.quality players finished us off.how on earth Sturrige can look across at the linesman to see if he'd flagged for hand ball.second goal started again down right flank via Sturrige again Suarez walked into the box unmarked and slotted home. same again for there 3rd.our goal came from giaccherrini following in on a mistake by mignolet I cannot remember sunderland getting a goal like that.alltidore held the line but had no support due to 5 in the midfield, which in my opinion we could have played them 4 4 2 on the day sunderlands down fall all game was we did not pick liverpools runners up,which reflected in the goals.3 new signings started the game, the rest were last years -Hite what's that all about.hope we can get a new coach in sooner rather than later.just another one for the fans when I walked into the ground I walked in behind Stuart Pearce I -uckin hope not,now that would be a disaster.

I watched the game on TV and i thought Sunderland played ok just never made the killer finish like Liverpool. 0 points is 0 points but the display seemed much improved from when i last watched you lot....that said i think you be lucky to finish above 15th this season and before anyone says it i doubt Newcastle will finish higher than 12-15th

I Hope Not Mark When i parked the Car, i was walkin in behind him,he couldnt manage a Sweet Shop.

Is that an honest answer , or is it a bit biased with him being an ex-mag?

Pearce has always been a hero of mine, mostly as a player to be fair, but just checked a few stats, he has an overall managerial win record of 39%, (that includes taking over at forrest when they were already bottom of the table)

for comparrison david moyes has a 44% record, and he was given one of the biggest jobs in world football...

Pearce has a wealth of experience for club and country, international u21 and senior level, as player and manager. He's even captained his country

He might be old school, (i imagine kevin ball to be much the same) the game may have moved on, but he has recently done his coaching badges and he still commands respect within the game. Too many foreign managers making the game more technical & complicated than it needs to be, get back to big centre forwards, quick wingers & no-nonsense centre halves, play the english way.

In the words of Mike Bassset "England will be playing 4 - 4 fu***ng 2!"

When pardew goes, i'd give pearce a go no problem.

Eh that's a very fickle quote,S Pearce and Newcastle never crossed my mind, with a wealth of talent at his disposal the England under 21's under S Pearce did Nowt.the English game now is gearing its self the forigen way more exiting football.

did nowt apart from the under 21's reached the final of the euros , and the semi finals in 2007 & 2009 (lost on pens......) you mean?

nothing fickle about my quote , i didn't like pardew when he came, my opinion was changed after finishing 5th, then last season was terrible, but i think he earned another chance after the finishing 5th season, Ashley is a t**t and joe kinnear is a pee take.

I don't think pearce wouldn't be a bad bet for sunderland, though not sure if he has managed in the championship before. He's a bit like your very own bally, but with managerial experience. (and a better left foot.....)

realistically who do you hope to attract? safc are bottom of the premier league, not a win all season, largely unknown squad, non-fashionable club, probably heading for the championship, you're not going to get a gus hiddink or jose are you!

Oh, and i presume you mean spanish football? , classed as the best team in the world, Spain been widely criticized for playing boring football, tika-taka style, boring , too many passes, not enough efforts at goal etc etc , and they have the players to keep the ball, we dont!
i think english teams should be more direct , play to our strengths, power, pace, aggression.

right i'm off to watch the lads scrape a point against the toffees, score draw...

As i said Pearce is more than good enough to be the next mackem manager. Say no more

I reckon Pearce would be ok actually. Think he'd be another peter reid for you lot, which is no bad thing.
