After a wet and misserable day, it started clearing up around 4pm, so decided to have a chuck off thr Rex prom as high water was at 7-30pm. Arrived at 5-30 and only one person fishing, said he'd had a coaly. The sea was rolling in from the south east and looked very "fishy". Baited up with fresh crab, but no bites on the first chuck. Then quite a few anglers arrived, one telling me there had been a 4lb bass, and a few codling to 3lb the night before, but that was with a northerly swell. Next cast my mate Ken got a coaly followed by me getting one too. As darkness fell, I was hoping things would pick up. There were 8 rods fishing now, but still no more fish. I called it a night at 8pm, knowing that in the past it some times fishes about an hour and a half after the top of the tide, but by now I'd lost interest and not waste any more crab. Some pics from the prom.
