rig dilema

making me own rigs to save a bob or 2 and have a question for the rig builders among you. what do you use to make ya rig bodies with? i bought some 60lb ultima sea strike XT basically because it was cheap, but find it very wiry/springy and basically not very good to work/fish with, what can any body reccommend using memo x stuff for me snoods and this seems canny.........................

I use Black Amnesia. it's memory free (doesn't coil up etc)

Use whatever line you use for a shock leader...assuming you use a shock leader

Knots easily and quite supple considering the breaking strain.

80lb - 100lb b/s mono for bodies and 40lb (18 kg) Black Amnesia for hook snoods.

60-80lb ultima rig body or powerflex, anything of that size breaking strain is going to be a pain to tie though. I use the 35lb memor x for the snoods aswell and find it spot on, always found amnesia has to much stretch.

suffix do a 50lb memory free rig body line on 100 mtr spools. great stuff no springy or wirey problems. i can highly recommend.

For a lot of rigs you'll only be tying a swivel or loop on one end and a leadlink / baitclip on the other so it shouldn't be a huge problem (if you're using beads and crimps that is) I use Suffix Supreme at the moment same as my shockleader, I've had some good shockleader / rig body line from Andy Rutherfords, his own label and a very good deal. Amnesia for snoods

10lb strength of line for every ounce of lead you intend to cast with...6oz Lead = 60lb line

Shock Leader and Rig...my main line for average fishing (on a slosh 20) is 20lb Ultima F1 with a 60lb leader....my Rock reels have 35lb straight through because the casting is usually more of a lob

Insano picks up bits of line hooks etc left on the piers by guys who leave their rubbish. He makes some half decent rigs.

Same mate, 50lb Greased Weasel Orange for the body then i use Amnesia 25lb Black for the hook lengths works a treat. theres no need to make top notch rigs etc, just make yaself a simple rig
