I made my first proper rigs yesterday.
The small rig making kit came from Glasgow angling centre and i put up the rig section on NESA.
I had put together some tatty old pulley rigs-stripped these and made couple of new ones.
I then made two clipped down pennel rigs.
Finished with a two hook flapper complete with beads and attractors.
Enjoyed doing this and look forward to seeing if i catch out on them.

Makes a change from buying set ups on e-bay.

its cheaper making your own and more satisfying when u catch on your rigs i think ile start buying mine as i never catch owt these days

Good excuse to fit out your garage/shed for fiddling with your gear.
Spent yesterday afternoon getting my new bench sorted and nails to hang my rigs.

That's fishy resolution one sorted - get my workbench and shed into a fishy rig workshop

Resolution 2 - fish rough ground marks to catch cod!!

have pulled the odd trace in before ,renewed the hook snood and caught on them, and if they are sucessful i will clone that rig :)

i got one of those for free from glasgow angling centre, i would chuck the little black beads in the bin cos as soon as there is any pressure put on them they shatter

making ya own rigs is the best option,by the time you buy swivvels, links.hooks etc .ya gonna make a good few rigs, different ones, rather than spending quids on shop bought rigs with dodgy knots.
Well done mick ya gonna become self sufficient shortly
