Rigg tying

dont know bout you but i find rigg tying very relaxing
i must be going mad
i know some people buy premade riggs but i like the fact that the fish you catch are caught on the rigg you made! nobody else!
dnt know if thats the hunter gatherer in me or wot
your thoughts

I its a good way to pass time and turn stress into something productive. Only problem is I keep making rigs without looking at the amount of components I have, and I keep making them till I eventually run out of hooks, etc!

Also, theres nowt better than catching fish on your own rigs that you made yourself, gives you the good sense of accomplishment. :red:

I agree, its relaxing, i always lose track of time and look at the clock, been there for hours lol look at how many rigs ive made and theres only 4 the i get stressed cause its took ages lol

You are like me as i have made all my own and always had good results with them but i do get confused with some rigs like pulleys and i do tend to try different methods but stick to what i am used to

paid off for me today, made a weird rig and got 2 codling

only make two riggs really
single hook riggs and two hook pats and that really covers it
mabey the odd bead on or just have them without and thats it
but i agree with you lads ive lost hours i shall never get back again tying riggs but it was hours well spent in my book!
i dnt like tackle tarts aswell! riggs gotta be such and such length and you MUST MUST MUST! use this and that!! cant stand them haha!
you could put a baited washing line in the water and you would catch fish!!

i never buy rigs but buy the bits to make them ..nowt better than pulling in a decent fish on ya own made rigs and also ya own collected bait its all worth while ...you made it ..you collected it ..you caught it

just done a count of me riggs and theres 18 of them
well that means mr tackleshop man aint getting me money for awhile or
its 30mins fishing down the fishquay

Well m8t your like me as ilike to make all my rigs myself too and yes you get that satisfaction when catching fish on your own rigs so well done.

I make all mine too, tbh if anything did happen like a knot came loose etc i would rather it was my fault than me rely on someone else's work.

When you pull those big ones in it really makes it worth while

aye its outwitting the fish thats the satisfaction to me whatever the size
plus its that feeling of always being prepared at short notice aswell
was down the tyne the other week and the guy next to me turned up took 30mins to tie a very simple rigg then cast out got a bite and on the
way in lost the lot then took another 30mins tying another one and that happened another two times:
and he didnt look like a novice either so it gives me a bit more satisfaction if
i do lose my gear its replaced in seconds and back out

I love tying rigs wiv a couple of beers an some good music when Im bored. The beer normally lets me know when its time to stop

aye they can be a rite faff on complicated riggs but when there done you look at them and say 'i made that' magic

i was buzzed the other day wen i made 10, showed every 1 and they didn't care, took me ages, making secrete rigs showing how they will work........
not bothered lol

only an angler appreciates it

i agree tried this for the first time the other day, took me about 45 mins :red:
