its a rig with a weak link between the lead and you trace so if you get lead snagged it snaps before your rig body therefore not loosing all your trace just the lead

as above but use one of the many types of links/clips if casting
lead clips onto the link etc for casting an releas when hitting the water
then lead will only be attached by the thin line for retrieve, but if the lead does get snagged then it will break at the weakline and you keep the trace and hopefully the fish

just the same as making normal rigs....
just use one of your choosen clips for the rotton bottom on the end and a length of thin line too tie the weight on
i use the gemini breakers ( mind i got a load given) or there is others ( sure someone on here makes them but cant think who it is)

Instead of tying your lead link the right way turn it round and tie to the loop weak line tirs to your normal loop and lead and it then sits on your link like normal

theres a hiram.a.biff? on this site he makes rotten bottoms too. basically ya can buy cheap rotten bottom clips of various sorts ...i use the simple one in the diagram...
