i going boat fishing in Guernsey, i be told to bring rigs for sandy bottom fishing for brill, turbot, whiting, bream and bass. what rigs would you recommend?
a 4/0 - 6/0 running ledger will cover most things. Thats what we used when we at Channel Isles in June.
Obviously this will be no good for bream, but you can use a small hokkai rig, or patternoster for the bream
The main thing about the running leger was to use a lead with flat sides so it could slowly slide across the sea bed - we were told by our skipper to avoid watch leads etc.
