took delivery of my new gleaming new car two days later gets a flat this car does not have a spare wheel but a compressor and a tyre weld type tin worked a treat drove quater of a mile to national express lad saye £135 we canot fix tyres that have been temp repaired that way it dose not say any thing on the tin or the manual should be a warning milage of the tyre dumped 400 miles has any body else had this problem ps has anybody got a 17"citroen spare or a space saver for sale

Heard the same story meself mate, f***** ridiculous. Also, what if you hit something on the road that ripped the tyre up, don't think the tin of tyre weld stuff would work then.

Apparently a spare tyre is now an "optional extra":o

The tyre weld will only repair small holes & you only get 1 shot at the repair. Another chance for the car companies to get more money from us.

correct me if i'm wrong but i always thought it was law to carry a spare wheel, jack and wheelbrace.

Apparently not mate. However, I heard if you do carry a spare wheel and the tyre on it is below the tread limit yer could get done, even though yer aint used it yet!:o

Just googled it and yer can't get done unless yer fit it

I have the nissan qashqai and you only get the chemical pump, no spare, you dont even get a jack with it, when i needed to replace 2 tyres after the wife hit a kerb i only found this out, the pump was useless as the tyre had ripped, i phoned the garage to ask where the jack was and they said it doesnt come with one, so after buying one i took the wheel off and took it to quick fit and was quoted £360.00 for the tyre as only 2 companies make them, when i tried to replace the wheel i discovered that the axle drops when you take the wheel off so i needed another jack to lift the axle before i could get the new wheel on, so £720.00 for 2 tyres and had to fork out for 2 jacks, on an £18,000 car you would at least expect a spare and the means to change it, i can only say i will NEVER buy a Nissan again.
