went down to the river blyth at the woods with my match rod baited with garden worm and a wagler got a bite but missed the fish looked like a graylin but not sure as it was my first ever time on fresh water , i also took a fly rod reel leeder and a couple of cheep flys from yorshire tradong , i had a little practise on the grass with the fly rod then cast it onto the water nothing first 3 atemts the on retrieving on the 4th cast BANG right into a fish put up a great fight my heart was in my mouth a 2lb brown trout just over the 2 on a little black fly , gave me an insentive to try it this summer what a great feeling , i fished near the bridge at hair pin bend , what else is in the river blyth anyone no ????,,....

i bdid buy a rod lisence but where do i get a day ticket for the river blyth can anyone help by telling me were to buy one from cheers from graham:D
 
That section is private. You can buy a season ticket for the section from the A1 to bedlington from Bedlington flyfishers. Fly only.

i fished before the hairpin bend on the blyth side is that ok to fish , and duz anyone no how much it is to join the club so you can fish up stream and are there any greylin in the river im not in the habbit of breaking rules im new to it all and have no idea what i need i did have a day rod lisense
 
Which Hairpin Bend?? There are quite a few and Pretty much all of the river is private waters belonging to several different clubs.

The only club and contact I know is for Seaton Burn Fishing Club. They have a stretch of water further upstream towards Blagdon Estate and it's £40 for the year. Contact is through the secretary of the club. I can pass his name and number on if you want
