Taking of the chronicle website.On Boxing Day the Friars Goose Boat Club are holding an Open Shore competition with fishing from 8 am to 1pm. Entry is £5 – winner takes all. Registration at the Boat Club on the day from 7am. Further details on 07717 350 611.

Fished the match think it was won with a fish of just over 2lb.I had 2 flatties for 1lb lol,better than nowt i suppose.Plenty of small codling in the river,enjoyed it apart from my 7yr old came with me and worked himself all day lol.
