Went down at about 6:30 set up me rod baited with a whole crab after about 15 minutes or so still nothing.so I changed bait to rag which lead to nothing and that is the way it stayed all night just losing rigs every cast so called it a day at 8:30. All in all a pretty crap session but going to try whitley pipe in the morning with the left over bait cheers Curtis

You've got to fish a either side of low or high water mate. The tide pull in the river is to strong at mid tide.

Avoid big tides.

....and a good cast of 120yards plus is needed to avoid the snags or cast short. Its particulary nasty infront of the Ice store and the amount of line and lead down there could prob sink the Titanic!

i was down smiths dock last night had a few small codling and a few eels, was at the walkway the night before me and me mate went home with 9 fish 3 of them about 2lb the rest were around 1lb 1/2 had a about 6 or 7 undersized aswell which got threw back. think il be goin to shields pier tomorrow night when all the makrel fishers have left

fish quay on small tides less movement and less snaggs thats what av found overthe years anyway :red:
