River Tyne - Ice Store (again !)

Well a nice small tide. Fished over bottom water 1 hr down 3 hrs up. Five codling 4 of which were size. All on ragworm. I also caught a velvet swimmer crab about 3" across the back of the shell. Never expected to find one in the river !!!. This may account for some of the bites I had been getting... and missing.

Some guys gave me decent lug worm as well (his rod stand fell in and a group effort got it back out). Not a sniff on the lug or rag/lug cocktails. Switched back to rag fish again !.

Grotty weather but nice bit of fresh air.

hi TerryC, nice catch ice house one of my fav marks but never been there for a while now ,do you know the rubber plant just a little further up do they still fish there

I still know it as Fraser's. Unfortunatley it is all razor wired now , no access. I wished we still had this venue.
